MULTIPLE TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTION AREAS ANNOUNCED OVER NEW JERSEY THIS WEEKEND
TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The North American Aerospace Defense Command will enforce multiple VIP Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) areas established by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) over the New Jersey area this weekend.

General aviation pilots are reminded to check Notices to Airmen, or NOTAMs, before each flight as required by the FAA, and TFR procedures must be followed.

If required, NORAD aircraft will respond to aircraft violating TFRs and take the necessary action to gain compliance – a scenario we encourage all pilots to avoid.

Pilots can access the most up-to-date information published by the FAA at https://tfr.faa.gov/

Pilots and the public may also notice U.S. Army ground-based air defense equipment in the same geographic region. These systems are operating under NORAD authorities, constitute a routine component of the command’s layered defense posture and work in tandem with the command’s airborne assets to monitor and protect the airspace.

NORAD employs a layered defense network of radars, satellites, fighter aircraft, and other capabilities to identify
and respond to potential threats. This defense posture demonstrates how NORAD executes Operation NOBLE EAGLE - its vital aerospace warning and control mission for North America.
