FORT CARSON, Colo. — Chief Warrant Officer 2 Kayla Davis, the Group Mobility Warrant Officer assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) won the Transportation Warrant Officer of the Year award for 2026. This award is an annual honor given by the Transportation Corps to recognize an individual who has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, leadership, impact and dedication to the Transportation Corps mission.
When asked about how she received the award, the first thing she spoke of was teamwork and support from her NCO.
Some of her accomplishments that led to her award were for optimizing strategic movement and generating over 5 million dollars in cost savings throughout the year. She leveraged partnerships with Air Force National Guard and Reserve units to dramatically reduce costs for operational movements and training exercises. As the Group’s lead planner, Davis enhanced mobility readiness and coordinated operations logistics for 9 strategic deployments and numerous training rotations.
“The teams here really make you feel part of the unit and family” Davis said, “People here make me feel like family, beyond my profession and it makes me want to give back to them even more.”
When asked about her role beyond 10th SFG (A), she emphasized her desire to represent the unit across the broader Army.
“I really want to represent 10th Group to the rest of the Army and show people that we’re working just as hard, if not harder than anyone else,” Davis said.
CW2 Kayla Davis has made a lasting impact on both 10th SFG (A) and the U.S. Army. Representing the unit in a competitive, Army-wide arena and taking home the top honor reinforces what makes "The Originals" an elite force: a commitment to mission success driven by the extraordinary Soldiers who make it happen.
