Closing Out the Quarter Strong: 4960th MFTB Looks Back on Leadership and Nutrition Training That Strengthens Readiness
As we push through a busy period for the 4960th Multi‑Functional Training Brigade, with multiple courses running simultaneously and our teams driving hard to close out the quarter, we’re reminded that excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through consistent habits, disciplined leadership, and a commitment to readiness in every domain. As we look ahead to finishing the year strong, we also reflect on the practices that keep our Soldiers sharp, resilient, and mission‑ready.

“Train to Lead” is more than a motto for the 4960th MFTB. It’s a standard. Leadership is not just about issuing guidance; it’s about modeling the behaviors we expect, inspiring confidence, and building trust across our formations. True leadership means developing ourselves and others, strengthening resilience, and ensuring every Soldier is prepared for the challenges ahead.

One way we live that out is by focusing on how we care for our bodies. Earlier this training year, the brigade hosted a class on good nutrition led by Captain Joshua Roe, a dietician with the 9th Mission Support Command. He emphasized how proper nutrition directly supports Soldier performance and mission readiness, reinforcing that fueling our bodies is just as important as training our minds and sharpening our skills.

Across every course, every classroom, and every range, the 4960th MFTB continues to set the standard for developing capable, confident, and mission‑ready Soldiers. Our schoolhouse remains committed to delivering high‑quality training that strengthens the force and prepares leaders for tomorrow’s challenges. “Train to Lead” isn’t just what we say, it’s what we do.

Check out this short video where Captain Roe explains the vital connection between good nutrition and the mission. It’s a reminder that readiness is built daily, and every choice we make contributes to the strength of our brigade.
