FORT CARSON, Colo. – Soldiers with Group Support Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), completed a week-long field training exercise April 29, 2026, at Camp Red Devil, validating the unit's combat lethality through advanced weaponry and autonomous drone integration. The exercise marked a significant milestone for GSB, which was activated in the mid-2000s to provide organic support to the Group. During this FTX the battalion trained as a singular, cohesive element rather than in a secondary support role, a move designed to ensure the unit can win as a standalone force in austere environments. The initial phase of the exercise pushed Soldiers to master the tools of warfare. In addition to qualifying on standard-issue rifles and crew-served machine guns, GSB partnered with industry specialists from Survice Engineering to operationalize the TRV-150 Tactical Resupply Vehicle. The TRV-150, an autonomous electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) cargo drone, allows the battalion to move 150 pounds of critical supplies across the battlefield without putting Soldiers in the path of kinetic threats. By integrating this emerging technology, the battalion isn't just maintaining pace with global threats, it’s dictating the tempo of the next fight. The training culminated with machine gun operations staged from Joint Lightweight Tactical Vehicles. Recognizing that support Soldiers often serve as the primary line of defense during convoy operations, the training ensured every "Support Fighter" possesses the technical and tactical knowledge required to secure victory in any condition. “All of these combined efforts by companies made GSB a more lethal force, working together collectively towards our large-scale combat operations, transformation, and innovation goals.” said the Commander of Maintenance Company, Cpt. Elexis Emery. As global threats evolve, 10th SFG(A) continues to refine its battlefield capabilities. A lethal, self-sufficient GSB ensures that the Green Berets remain supported by a force capable of winning anywhere, at any time.
