Members of the 72nd Aerial Port Squadron, 72nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, the 507th Air Refueling Wing, and the 72nd Air Base Wing for the 2026 Port Dawg Memorial Run on Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, May 3, 2026.

The Port Dawg Memorial Run is an annual event to remember and honor the aerial port members who have died in the past year.

“Today we gather as Port Dawgs – the ones who move the mission, carry the weight and often make a way where there isn’t one,” said Chaplain (Capt.) Molly Hayes, 507th ARW chaplain.

The Port Dawg Memorial Run first began in 2013 to honor Tech. Sgt. Curtis Eccleston, a member of the Kadena Air Base air transportation community, was killed in 2011. Although the memorial run began as a local event, it quickly spread across the entire career field.

This year, the run celebrated the lives of Senior Airman Aeron Olson, Senior Airman Mario Ceja, and Tech. Sgt. Jasmine Allen, and Staff Sgt. Gregory Peterson. “As Port Dawgs we know that every pallet moved, every passenger moved and every mission launched carries the weight far beyond the cargo itself,” said Chief Master Sgt. Michael Cain, 72nd APS Senior Enlisted member. “It carries the legacy of those who came before us.”
