“If there is one thing I would like the public to know, is that we're here to protect the community,” says Spc. Nancy Alarcon, a military police officer with the Georgia National Guard assigned to the Joint Task Force District of Columbia. Alarcon is currently on her second rotation of the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission. Alarcon’s enlistment was motivated by her passion for service and educational benefits. Alarcon intends to continue her service, and is currently pursuing her nursing degree at Kennesaw State University. Her decision to enlist and subsequently engage a career in the health care field is an example of the Army Value selfless service.
