KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces detained several insurgents in Kunduz province, Tuesday, including an Uzbek Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan foreign fighter facilitator operating in Chahar Darah District.

The commander maintains ties to local Taliban as well as Iranian-based Uzbek Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan facilitators.

Intelligence led Afghan and coalition forces to a compound southwest of Basuz in Chahar Darah District to search for the commander.
