U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Heather Otte, a native of Ventura, CA and the 8th Fighter Wing Judge Advocate noncommissioned officer in charge of civil law, was awarded the 8th Fighter Wing’s Pride of the Pack for the week of April 6-10 for her outstanding dedication to mission readiness, her ingenuity, and her commitment to building team morale.
Within her first week on station, Otte showed her exceptional leadership skills to other Airmen during exercise Freedom Shield. Her proactive integration continued as she joined the 5/6 council and volunteered for its fundraisers to better the Wolf Pack community. Further, she volunteered for the vital role of Unit Project Officer for the Air Force Assistance Fund to better the Air Force mission of supporting our Airmen.
Otte directly improved Wing-wide processes and earned her early acclaim by command teams. She designed and implemented a Kunsan Discharge Worksheet, a tool that is actively assisting in the streamlining of administrative processes eliminating common processing errors. Otte also furthered her efforts and created a page that provides real-time discharge processing visibility for the Military Personnel Flight, greatly reducing processing times.
She took on the responsibility of redesigning the unit’s morale jersey with input from all ranks within her team, cultivating a renewed sense of ownership and pride within the legal office.
Thank you, Staff Sgt. Otte for your outstanding leadership and dedication to the Wolf Pack mission. Congratulations on being this week’s Pride of the Pack!
