510th Regional Support Group executes up to $12 million in funded projects for V Corps
POZNAN, Poland — The 510th Regional Support Group, assigned to the 7th Mission Support Command, is executing approximately $11.7 million in funded projects to improve Base Operations Support–Integration (BOS-I) across multiple forward operating sites across the Baltics.

The funding supports infrastructure and life-support improvements as US Army V Corps prepares for upcoming training exercises in Poland and the Baltic region. These efforts contribute to readiness and sustainment along NATO’s eastern flank.

“Our BOS-I responsibilities in Poland and the Baltics are essential to sustaining forward forces,” said Maj. George Harrivel III, officer in charge of engineering support for the 510th RSG. “Quality of life for U.S. rotational forces depends on reliable power, fuel, billeting, workspaces, and other services managed through coordinated U.S. and host-nation support.”

BOS-I enables the operation and sustainment of installations and forward operating sites by funding facility maintenance, utilities, waste management, and life-support services. With support from U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the 510th RSG oversees the planning and execution of these efforts to ensure facilities remain functional and mission-ready.

Current projects include expansion of billeting capacity, improvements to land and transportation infrastructure, upgrades to motor pool facilities and overhead lift capabilities, and enhancements to force protection and security measures.

Facility management plays a critical role in mission readiness and host-nation coordination. It includes maintaining buildings and roadways, managing utilities and waste disposal, and supporting health, welfare, and nutrition services for deployed and rotational forces.

Previous large-scale exercises, including DEFENDER 24 and DEFENDER 25 — recently renamed SWORD — provided key experience in executing Base Operations Support-Integration (BOS-I) requirements in support of V Corps and U.S. Army Europe and Africa.. These events strengthened the unit’s ability to understand theater-level requirements, manage costs, and synchronize sustainment efforts without disrupting operational missions.

The 7th Mission Support Command is the only U.S. Army Reserve command permanently forward-stationed in Europe, a posture that allows its Soldiers—many of whom live and work in the region—to maintain familiarity with host-nation regulations and contracting environments.

“Experience working in European construction and contracting environments helps us navigate host-nation requirements efficiently,” said Maj. Lindsay Smith, officer in charge of operational contract support for the 510th RSG. “That familiarity supports a smooth integration with V Corps and helps sustain U.S. and NATO forces forward.”

Forward operating site mayors and deputy mayors work closely with host-nation partners to ensure contractual, legal, and quality-of-life standards are met. These partnerships help align installation support with operational requirements.

The 510th Regional Support Group is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and is co-located in Poznan, Poland. The unit provides base operations support to multiple sites across the Baltic region, enabling the readiness of V Corps and NATO forces operating along Europe’s eastern flank.
