    U.S. Army Recruiting Harrisburg Battalion

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa- The world’s largest outdoor sports show once again transforms the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex into a hub of energy, expertise, and excitement as the 2026 Great American Outdoor Show brought together 989 exhibitors, more than 200 seminars, and an estimated quarter-million attendees from across the country. From pro anglers and world champions to seasoned outdoorsmen, the event showcases the very best of the outdoor industry, offering hands-on learning in hunting, fishing, self-defense, wildlife cooking, and conservation. For nine days, central Pennsylvania is the epicenter of outdoor culture, and the U.S. Army was right in the middle of it.

The U.S. Army’s Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion, alongside the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, engaged directly with the public throughout the event, highlighting the Army’s connection to the outdoor community and its commitment to excellence, precision, and service. Soldiers connected with families, veterans, and Future Soldiers alike, sharing insights on marksmanship, training, and career opportunities while reinforcing the Army’s presence as both a profession and a trusted community partner. The show provides a powerful platform to meet Americans where they are and tell the Army story in an authentic, face-to-face environment.

Visitors are invited to stop by the Army display February 7–15 to meet Soldiers, learn more about Army opportunities, take-home Army branded gear, and a chance to win a Garmin tactical watch.

More than a recruiting event, the Great American Outdoor Show underscores the Army’s commitment to engage the public, strengthen trust, and remain visible in the community it serves.
