    Dover, Del.--Nearly 200 military and civilian guests celebrated with the 512th Airlift Wing during its annual awards banquet Jan. 31, 2026, at the Rollins Center in Dover, Delaware.

    Annual awards recognize 512th AW reservists and civilian employees for exemplary performance in their career fields.

    “I'm honored to be here celebrating the outstanding achievements of our Airmen,” said Col. Eric J. Rivero, 512th AW commander. “This event makes it possible for us to recognize their excellence with their families their units and our community.”

    At the “Night of Excellence” themed event, attendees enjoyed an evening of camaraderie and fun.

    Drumrolls echoed across tables, building anticipation before each winner was announced. With every reveal, applause and squadron chants erupted around the room – a fitting backdrop to the smiles worn by winners as they accepted their awards from Rivero and Chief Master Sgt. Leonard F. Werner III, 512th AW command chief.

    The 2025 annual award winners are:

    Team of the Year – 512th AW Cube Team (512th Mission Support Group and 512th Force Support Squadron),

    Civilian of the Year, CATI – Ms. Kyra Murphy, 512th Aerospace Medicine Squadron,

    Civilian of the Year, CAT II – Ms. Timeka King, 512th MSG,

    Company Grade Officer of the Year - Capt. Abbie Moore, 709th Airlift Squadron,

    First Sergeant of the Year - Master Sgt. Tylisha Darling, 512th AW,

    Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year - Master Sgt. DrewBixler, 46th Aerial Port Squadron,

    Noncommissioned Officer of the Year - Tech. Sgt. Amanda Acosta, 512th Maintenance Group, and

    Airman of the Year - Staff Sgt. AmeliaSacco, 46th Aerial Port Squadron

    “Winning NCO of the Year affirmed the commitment and progress I made throughout 2025, and it inspires me to keep striving for what’s ahead,” aid Acosta. “It also serves as a reminder to be the kind of example that encourages other Airmen to elevate themselves."

    Acosta and the other enlisted annual award winners advance to compete for recognition at the 4th Air Force level.

    Wing leadership also recognized 23 quarterly award winners for their work in 2025, as well as a few individuals and offices for winning prestigious awards outside of the wing. They are:

    Office of Secretary of War Innovative Readiness Training Enlisted Airman of the Year, E1-E-5 – Staff Sgt. Alexis Morris,

    AFRC First Place Sports Photo – Staff Sgt. Alexis Morris,

    AFRC First Place Photo Series – Staff Sgt. Dylan Rossi,

    AFRC Outstanding Achievement Award for Occupational Safety– 512thAW Occupational Safety Office,

    AFRC Outstanding Occupational Safety Civilian of the Year – Senior Master Sgt. Alexis Lynn,

    AFRC Outstanding Achievement Award for Weapons Safety – 512th AW Weapons Safety Office,

    AFRC Outstanding Weapons Safety Civilian of the Year – Mr. Carl Palmer,

    AFRC Financial Management Airman of the Year - Senior Airman Thinle Ronge,

    AFRC Financial Management Civilian of the Year – Ms. Tricia Isam, and

    AFRC Financial Management Resource Advisor of the Year – Ms. Nicole Siegler.

    “Thank you for showing up and being the Airmen you are,” Rivero said at the close of the event. “It’s because of Airmen like you the 512th (AW) continues to excel in its mission.”
