CAMP KINSER, Okinawa, Japan — U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Regiment 37 came together to celebrate the holiday season during an end-of year holiday party, Dec. 19, 2025, honoring Marines and Sailors stationed far from family as the unit closed another year of mission success, commitment, and camaraderie.
The event, hosted at the Camp Kinser softball field, provided Marines and Sailors with an opportunity to enjoy the holidays alongside their unit peers and leadership. For many service members who were unable to travel home, the celebration aimed to build lasting memories and foster connections with fellow warfighters who spent the holidays forward-deployed.
Staff Sgt. Jonathan Jacobo, the Uniformed Readiness Coordinator, along with Christina Glisson, Deployment Readiness Coordinator, and Capt. Reuben Smith, Headquarters and Service Company commander, all with CLR-37, led efforts to coordinate the gathering for the regimental personnel. Their goal was to create a space for Marines and Sailors to come together during a time that can often feel isolating for those far from loved ones.
“For some Marines, home isn’t just a place, but a distance they can’t close this season,” said Jacobo. “This event was our way of making sure no Marine stood alone, and that every one of them felt the strength of the family they serve with.”
Marines spent the afternoon playing games like football, dominoes, and cornhole, while enjoying a variety of food and refreshments. The event created a festive atmosphere full of conversation and holiday cheer.
The event also served as a reminder of the strong bonds that unite Marines no matter where they serve. Sharing stories, laughter, and moments of reflection, the Marines and Sailors strengthened the understanding that a unit is more than just a place of work, it’s a family built on shared purpose and trust.
“During this time of year, it is really hard to keep your spirits up, especially for Marines who are close to their families,” said Lance Cpl. Julio Arguello, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialist, CLR-37. “But having leadership that goes out of their way to make sure we have a good time shows how much they care about us. It reminds us that we are more than just a unit, we are a family.”
As the year closes, Combat Logistics Regiment 37 looks ahead to 2026 with the same sense of unity and resilience that defines its Marines committed to the mission, dedicated to one another, and always ready to serve wherever duty calls.
