WIESBADEN, Germany – November 3, 2025 – U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF), operating as a joint combined headquarters alongside Allied Land Command (LANDCOM), concluded its landmark exercise, Avenger Triad 25, today. The exercise demonstrated significant advancements in Allied interoperability and validated key concepts for large-scale combat operations (LSCO) above the Corps level.
Avenger Triad 25 saw USAREUR-AF command and control seven U.S. and NATO corps, representing over 100,000 troops engaged in a simulated LSCO environment. A total of 4,000 participants – 2,000 U.S. and 2,000 multinational – contributed to the exercise, executing from distributed locations across Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania.
This year’s iteration marked the first time Avenger Triad and NATO’s Steadfast Duel were combined through a shared scenario and common command and control systems, significantly enhancing the realism and complexity of the training.
U.S. Army V Corps participated alongside NATO Multi-National Corps Northeast, 1st German Netherlands Corps, 2nd Polish Army Corps, Rapid Reaction Corps – France, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, and NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain.
Key to this year’s iteration of Avenger Triad was the integration of LANDCOM headquarters with the USAREUR-AF headquarters during the exercise. The convergence of staff into a single, joint and combined headquarters provided the authorities to commanded seven NATO subordinate corps and U.S.-retained capabilities and serve as the land component advisor to Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe.
“Sustainment is one of the critical warfighting functions,” said Brigadier General Jacek Perkowski, LANDCOM Deputy Chief of Staff Support. “Through the implementation information of technology tools supported by AI, we are able to speed up the planning process,” Perkowski continued. “We are can consider more factors and calculate more numbers in order to provide more credible sustainment options to our higher echelon for the decision making process.”
USAREUR-AF’s role as the Army’s premier theater for transformation and readiness building was prominently displayed throughout the exercise. Avenger Triad tested the interoperability of U.S. and NATO systems, munitions, and platforms utilizing adaptive live data, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Avenger Triad 25 reaffirms USAREUR-AF’s commitment to maintaining a strong and ready Alliance, capable of deterring aggression and defending the Alliance.
