ORUZGAN, Afghanistan – Afghan National Army Commandos partnered with Coalition forces conducted a security patrol to disrupt a known insurgent safe haven in Tarin Kowt, Oruzgan province Aug. 23.

Two known insurgents suspected of forcing Afghan civilians to supply them and other insurgents with food and supplies were captured during the joint patrol.

“The patrol was key in improving security in an area where insurgents have been tormenting the Afghan people,” said a Special Forces major assigned to the battalion.

Following the operation, the villagers welcomed the Afghan-led force and one of the residents said he hoped the combined force continues to push out the insurgents so the people can build a school for their children.
