The National Capital Region held its Fiscal Year 2026 Chief Petty Officer Pinning Ceremony at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, on September 16, 2025.

15 selectees completed six weeks of rigorous training and team building exercises in preparation for upcoming challenges as they don their anchors. The ceremony included members of the U.S. Army who were pinned to chiefs alongside their Navy counterparts. This is not just an honorary title but complete acceptance into the Chief’s Mess.

“I remember 21 years ago when I put my anchors on,” said Command Master Chief Anna Wood, Director, Senior Enlisted Leader Management Office, Office of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. “It was an exciting time. Wear those anchors with pride but remember those that helped you achieve this great milestone.”

The following personnel were pinned to Chief Petty Officer:
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Talmadge Barnett
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Kiana Barrett
U.S. Navy Chief Logistics Specialist Jordan Carter
U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Dequan Davis
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Kelly Feagin
U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Robert Florence
U.S. Navy Chief Information Systems Technician Aron Gebregziabher
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Anthony Genuino
U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Aarynne Ghant
U.S. Navy Chief Yeoman Joseph Hunt
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Garrett Masters
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Davonte McCraven
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Mario Reese
U.S. Navy Chief Hospital Corpsman Tristan Ricamona
U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Class Kodjovi Sonokpon

“This was a huge honor to be a part of this event,” said Sgt. 1st Class Davis. “I truly feel that I have made new brothers and sisters here and will take this experience with me everywhere I go.”

Various friends, family, and mentors pinned each of the newly promoted chiefs, amplifying the message: this journey is not intended to be traveled alone.
