The Daegu Army Community Service (ACS) hosted a Back-to-School Bash at the Kelly Fitness Center, 10 a.m. to noon, August 2nd, providing a fun-filled and informative event for military families preparing for the upcoming school year. The event drew a crowd of more than 400 service members, Department of Defense civilians, and their children.
The bash featured representatives from a variety of activities, including Child and Youth Services, Boy and Girl Scouts, the American Red Cross, USO and the Religious Support Office. Many offered school supplies and information about youth programs available in the Daegu area. Officials from Daegu Elementary, Middle and High Schools and other educational resources were also present to answer questions and assist parents with enrollment.
“With the support of local organizations, Families are ready for the upcoming school year. The valuable information and resources they provided played a key role in making the Back to School Bash a success,” Amanda Verrillo, the ACS Community Services Program Manager, and event organizer, said.
The Daegu ACS regularly hosts events aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the military community. Information on future events can be found on the official USAG Daegu Facebook page or by visiting the ACS website at https://daegu.armymwr.com/programs/army-community-service
