PALAU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Palau— The U.S. Pacific Air Forces and the Republic of Palau strengthened ties through a Community Day event featuring U.S. Air Force aircraft and equipment displays, at Palau International Airport, Palau, July 21.
Highlighting the event was a static display of an F-35A Lightning II, assigned to the Wisconsin Air National Guard. The aircraft drew crowds of families, local officials, and aviation enthusiasts eager to see the fifth-generation fighter up close.
“This event highlights the strength of our friendship with Palau and demonstrates our commitment to working together to ensure a safe and stable Indo-Pacific,” said Capt. Lyza Taino, 36th Air Expeditionary Wing exercise liaison officer. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our mission with the Palauan community.”
Alongside the F-35, there were displays including a P-19 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicle, an R-11 refueling truck, and other specialized vehicles essential to supporting air operations in the Pacific region.
Attendees were invited to meet with Airmen, explore the equipment, and learn about the Air Force’s role in the region.
The Community Day was held simultaneously with other locations across the Indo-Pacific region and is part of the Resolute Force Pacific exercise. The exercise is part of the first-in-generation Department Level Exercise series, a new way of conducting operations in a contested, dynamic environment to build capabilities making a stronger, more lethal deterrent force.
The DLE series encompasses all branches of the Department of Defense, along with Allies and partners, employing more than 350 joint and coalition aircraft and more than 12,000 members at more than 50 locations across 3,000 miles.
