DETROIT — The Coast Guard rescued a person in the water Saturday, who was reported to be on an
overturned vessel near Port Huron, Michigan.

Air Station Detroit and Sector Detroit received a call regarding an overturned vessel in Port Huron,
Michigan. A survivor of the vessel reported that another person was aboard when it overturned. The
helicopter crew conducted a search and visually located the possible person in the water waving their
arms. The crew hoisted the rescue swimmer and person in the water, confirming it was the additional
    survivor of the overturned vessel.

The crew brought the survivor to Saint Clair County International Airport and coordinated with Sector
Detroit to pass their location to local Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The survivor is reported to be
    medically stable at this time.

“This was a team effort and I’d like to commend the coordination from Sector Detroit and our
crews,” said Lt. Christian Toscano, aircraft commander, Air Station Detroit. “This is what we
train for, and we are glad we got to bring the survivor home safely.”
