KABUL, Afghanistan - Five Afghan National Police officers graduated from basic and advanced training Friday in the Gelan District, Ghazni province.
They successfully completed four weeks of basic combat training as well as an advanced combat course. This training allows the new ANP officers to participate in joint combat missions and operations.
"The addition of these five members will further the cooperation and operations of the ANP. Their presence will ensure greater situational awareness and build confidence in Afghan security forces and help to protect the afghan people," said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command Combined Joint Operations Center director.
