    Soldier Killed in Iraq; DoD Identifies Previous Casualty

    A Humvee used for U.S. reconnaissance missions rolled over south of Baghdad today, killing one U.S. soldier and injuring two others, and the Defense Department has identified an earlier casualty.

    The name of the soldier killed today is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

    In other news, the Defense Department released the name of a Navy hospitalman killed Dec. 21 while conducting operations in Iraq’s Anbar province. Kyle A. Nolen, 21, of Ennis, Texas, was assigned to Hotel Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Regimental Combat Team 7, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, Twentynine Palms, Calif. Officials did not provide his rank.
