    Two Soldiers, One Marine Killed; Officials Identify Previous Casualties

    Two soldiers were killed yesterday and one Marine was killed Jan. 27 in three separate incidents in Iraq.

    • A Multinational Division Baghdad soldier was killed yesterday when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in central Baghdad.
    • A second Multinational Division Baghdad soldier also was killed yesterday at around 7:30 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in Baghdad.
    • A Marine assigned to 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), was killed in a non-hostile vehicle accident in Fallujah Jan 27.

    The names of all three deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

    Defense officials have released the names of two servicemen previously reported killed in action in Iraq.

    • Army Staff Sgt. Jerry M. Durbin Jr., 26, of Spring, Texas, died in Baghdad Jan. 25 when an improvised explosive device exploded near his dismounted patrol. Durbin was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ken..
    • Army Sgt. Joshua A. Johnson, 24, of Richford, Vermont, died in Ramadi on Jan. 25, when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle. Johnson was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain), Jericho, Vermont.
