Defense Secretary William J. Perry selected 11 new members for the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services.
New members are Elizabeth Alexander of Tucson, Ariz., Arthur Hoyte of Washington, Lori Hunter of Marlboro, Mass., Linda Imes of Baton Rouge, La., Marilyn Lloyd of Chattanooga, Tenn., Sheila McNeill of Brunswick, Ga., Ginger Simpson of Apopka, Fla., Barbara Speer of Arvada, Colo., Lyn Starnes of Meridian, Miss., Sue Straughn of Pensacola, Fla., and Barbara LaneBrown of Redondo Beach, Calif.
They join 30 other DACOWITS members in advising Perry on policies affecting women in the services. The secretary selects committee members based on their achievements in business, professions and civic affairs. Each member serves a threeyear term without compensation.
