    Shades of Green to Hold Oktoberfest

    The Armed Forces Recreation Center's Shades of Green resort will duplicate Germany's Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 21 to 24 at the Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Events will begin at 7 each night.Shades of Green general manager Jim McCrindle said the festival is open to all Walt Disney World visitors. He said the hotel is opening its doors to the civilian community to promote appreciation of active duty and retired service members.

    A special festival tent will host German bands and a variety of German cuisine. Also included in the $5 admission is a special Shades of Green collectable beer stein for adult ticket holders.For more information or early reservations, call the Shades of Green Oktoberfest hot line at (407) 824-2199.Shades of Green is one of four Armed Forces Recreation centers worldwide designed to provide service members with affordable vacation accommodations. The others are in Garmisch, Germany; Seoul, South Korea; and Honolulu.
