Numerous services and agencies assist Gulf War veterans, particularly those with health problems or questions.
Active duty service members should contact their commanders or call the DoD Gulf War Veterans hot line at (800) 796-9699.
Non-active duty Gulf War veterans with health concerns should contact the nearest Department of Veterans Affairs medical center. The telephone number can be found in local directories under "Department of Veterans Affairs" in the "U.S. Government" listings.
Gulf War veterans who need marital or family counseling can get help from the nearest VA medical center, VA veterans center or by calling the VA Gulf War Information Helpline at (800) 749- 8387.
Veterans trying to retrieve copies of hospital records from their Gulf War service should call (800) 497-6261 to find out if their records have been added to a growing database maintained by the DoD Office of the Special Assistant for Gulf War Illnesses. To date, the database contains more than 17,000 entries.
Gulf War veterans seeking disability compensation for illnesses incurred in or aggravated by military service should contact a benefits adviser at the nearest VA regional office or health care facility, or call the VA Gulf War information help line at (800) 749-8387.

People with firsthand information about incidents that occurred in the theater of operations during the Gulf War, that may be related to reported health problems, should call the DoD incidents line at (800) 472-6719.
