Speaking on radio shows is not my favorite thing. I much prefer to be behind the scenes than in the spotlight. Still, I agreed to be on my second radio show today – Military Mom Talk Radio -- because I'm hoping to spread the word about the Family Matters Blog.
This August will mark Family Matters' one-year anniversary. It's hard to believe it's almost been a year. From covering military family conferences to speaking one on one with military teens, I've enjoyed every minute I've spent on the blog. Most of all, I enjoyed the insightful and meaningful comments and suggestions you've sent in along the way, and the interaction between readers. I sincerely hope the blog has offered some useful information to you over the past year.
So, later today, I'll fight through my radio show appearance anxiety and highlight the blog in hopes that even more of our deserving military families will have access to a helpful resource and a place to air their concerns.
And I hope a few of you will tune in today to hear me talk about the blog on Military Mom Talk Radio at 5 p.m. EDT. Joining me will be Vivian, a Navy veteran and spouse and a regular Family Matters contributor. Vivian wrote frequently and eloquently on her husband's deployment over the past year and his recent homecoming.
The show can be downloaded free from iTunes and is streamed live through its sponsor, Toginet Christian Radio.
