MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Highlighting Cherry Point's Warriors.
What is your job?
I assist with finishing the final packing of the parachutes for every aircraft on Cherry Point.
What's your favorite part?
Knowing that what I do each day contributes to the safety of the pilots aboard the air station makes me feel really good.
What's the most challenging part?
The most challenging part of the job is keeping up with the workload. We are pretty much always working.
How does your job support the mission of 2nd MAW and MCAS Cherry Point?
Every Cherry Point pilot's life is in our hands. They could not operate safely without the parachutes we provide.
How does your job in garrison differ from your job in the field?
We actually do not pack parachutes in the field. Instead we prepare life preservers, survival rafts, seat pans and liquid oxygen.
