All four active services met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal year 2015 through October, DoD officials announced today.
Here are the active-component recruiting numbers for fiscal year 2015 through October:
-- Army: 4,334 accessions, 101.9 percent of its goal of 4,255;
-- Navy: 2,705 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 2,705;
-- Marine Corps: 2,651 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 2,651; and
-- Air Force: 1,326 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 1,326.
All four services exhibited strong retention numbers for October 2014.
Five of the six reserve components met or exceeded their fiscal-year-to-date 2015 numerical accession goals through October 2014. Five of the six reserve components also met or exceeded the DoD quality benchmarks.
Here are the reserve-component accession numbers for fiscal year 2015 through October:
-- Army National Guard: 4,137 accessions, 97.0 percent of its goal of 4,267;
-- Army Reserve: 2,703 accessions, 126 percent of its goal of 2,150;
-- Navy Reserve: 605 accessions, 146 percent of its goal of 413;
-- Marine Corps Reserve: 770 accessions, 107.0 percent of its goal of 661;
-- Air National Guard: 577 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 577; and
-- Air Force Reserve: 681 accessions, 100.0 percent of its goal of 681.
Four of the six reserve components met their attrition goals or were within the allowed variance. Current trends are expected to continue. This indicator lags due to data availability.
