MOFFETT AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Calif. – Last month, members of the 129th Rescue Wing traveled to Yokota Air Base in Japan, improving readiness and increasing training, while building relationships in the Indo-Pacific region.

The 129th team included 29 Airmen from various sections of the 129th Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), where they integrated with active duty members of the 374th Airlift Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS).

Together, the teams worked hand-in-hand to advance their training and access better resources for future operational planning, fostering innovation and diversifying processes.

The 129th Airmen built better practice plans, including logistics for communication, power, fuels, and other essential resources, all in preparation to promptly mobilize.

“We’re getting ready to help out in any capacity,” said U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Ramiro Blanco, a distribution superintendent assigned to the 129th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Moffett Air National Guard Base.

Working in conjunction with the 374th, the 129th team trained to plan and execute exercises, improving overall mission readiness and completing crucial upgrade training.

By building strong relationships and enhancing interoperability, the 129th improved their understanding of planning processes, leading to better collaboration.

The training also allowed Airmen to build their program management, support agreement and base support planning routines.

The teams reviewed their installation deployment plans, checking for discrepancies and reviewing any changes. The planning was vital for highlighting any changes and improvements to be made for future missions.

“It was awesome to have the [129th] Airmen on the team; they integrated seamlessly into the day-to-day operations at Yokota," Blanco said. "They were very motivated to learn.”

The training opportunity was crucial for building skills and relationships in the Indo-Pacific, as the 129th continues to train and equip Airmen to respond rapidly anywhere in the world.
