Commander, U.S. Transportation Command meets Japanese defense leaders
U.S. Transportation Command spokesperson Navy Capt. John Fage provided the following readout:
On June 6, Air Force Gen. Randall Reed, commander of U.S. Transportation Command, met in Tokyo with Gen Nakatani, Japanese defense minister; Gen. Yoshihide Yoshida, chief of staff of Japan’s Joint Staff; Gen. Kenichiro Nagumo, commander of the Japan Joint Operations Command; and other Japanese defense officials to discuss military readiness and bilateral logistics cooperation as part of a multi-week trip to the Indo-Pacific region.
The leaders also reaffirmed logistics interoperability as a key element of deterrence and regional stability. The meetings underscored future opportunities to deepen coordination and advance the U.S.–Japan defense alliance.
