California Army National Guard soldiers with the 233rd Finance Detachment conduct finance services for soldiers and civilians as part of their culminating training event on Fort Cavazos, Texas, May 15, 2025. The 233rd will act as the soldiers' bank while overseas supporting KFOR.
“My role is to make sure anyone on the front line is able to focus on their job to the best of their ability,” said Spc. Hudson Handel with the 233rd Finance Detachment. “If you are having pay issues, you are going to be distracted and therefore less effective.”
These services ensure soldiers are getting paid correctly, have access to funds overseas, and can make deposits into their bank. Other than banking, the 233rd Finance Department also provides commercial vendor services, which enable units to pay commercial vendors for goods and services to sustain combat operations and support missions.
