GRAFENWOEHR, GERMANY – U.S. Special Operations Command Europe forces participated in a validation exercise to assess their integration capabilities during large-scale combat operations, May 1-8.
10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) trained on emerging drone technology, mortar positioning and fire, infiltration, extraction, and other tactics during the all-encompassing training event.
The validation exercise evaluated the unit’s readiness and ability to conduct combined operations in complex environments.
“They’re already experts with their equipment,” said the officer in charge for the U.S. Army Special Forces unit. “This exercise pushes them to become experts in applying that knowledge in a full-scale, multifaceted scenario.”
The training scenario provided realistic opposition from a simulated conventional enemy force that challenged SOF technical proficiencies.
Validation exercises demonstrate the role of SOF in joint force operations and the shared commitment to building a stronger, more lethal force necessary to protect national sovereignty.
