GRAFENWÖHR, Germany - The 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion hosted Warhammer University at the Tower View Conference Center in Grafenwöhr, Germany, from April 28-30, 2025.
The three-day leadership symposium brought together Platoon Leaders, Platoon Sergeants, and Lieutenants from across the battalion to invest in leader development and build professional cohesion across formations.
The event featured a mix of classroom instruction, open discussion, and scenario-based learning focused on enhancing leadership effectiveness at the platoon level. Topics included counseling, decision-making under pressure, command team dynamics, and mission planning. The program also emphasized mentorship, self-awareness, and the importance of trust within small-unit leadership.
Participants also had the opportunity to connect with senior leaders from the battalion and brigade, fostering mentorship relationships and gaining a broader perspective on the operational environment and command expectations.
The event was educational and served to unify leaders from different companies under a shared vision of excellence, reinforcing 18th CSSB’s culture of deliberate leadership development.
The 18th CSSB remains committed to developing confident, capable, and connected leaders ready to take on the challenges of Army sustainment missions across Europe and beyond. (U.S. Army article by Sgt. Mehmet Kizmaz, 16th Sustainment Brigade)
