Every year to show appreciation, Girl Scouts of America donate thousands of boxes of Girl Scout cookies to service members as part of Operation Cookie Drop. Operation Cookie Drop started 20 years ago as a partnership between Girl Scouts of America and military installations to provide service members a taste of home in appreciation for service to the nation. This year, members of Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines delivered 12,000 boxes of cookies to units assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Every unit on MCAS Cherry Point will receive a variety of approximately 50 cases of cookies each.
