PINEVILLE, La. – Soldiers from the Louisiana National Guard’s 927th Engineer Company, 769th Engineer Battalion received a new Family of All-Terrain Cranes (FOTAC) Type I and completed Scheduled Maintenance New Equipment Training at LANG Training Center Pineville, March 19-20.
The FOTAC Type I is a versatile crane designed for loading and unloading heavy equipment, including generators, CONEX containers and construction gear. It can also be used to position materials at a job site.
In addition to supporting construction operations, the equipment will enhance the LANG’s disaster response capabilities by clearing large debris from roadways and assisting in rescue and recovery missions.
“The training introduced the Soldiers to the crane, covering the controls and indicators, location of major components, maneuvering and setup, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services instructions, and general maintenance procedures,” said Peter Shore, warranty, aftermarket, logistics and training manager for Taylor Defense Products. “This training will help the Soldiers maintain the FOTAC Type I to ensure it can be utilized when required.”
