SSBN Deterrent Patrol (Gold) Insignia

Stars are mounted on the scroll in the order shown on diagram at left to indicate each additional patrol, as follows: (a) Silver pin alone, without stars, one patrol. (b) Add a gold star for each additional patrol (maximum four gold stars). (c) Patrol pin with Silver Star, six patrols. (d) Add a gold star for each additional patrol (maximum four stars). (e) Pin with two silver stars, eleven patrols. (f) Add a gold star for each additional patrol (maximum four gold stars. (g) Pin with three silver stars, sixteen patrols. (h) Add a gold star for each additional patrol (maximum three gold stars). (i) Repeat sequence adding gold stars for each additional patrol (maximum four gold stars) and a silver star for each additional five patrols.
