The 136th Airlift Wing held a Family Morale Day event on November 17, 2024, at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. (no comma till after Worth)
The event highlighted the support friends and family provide to our Airmen. This support is a critical aspect allowing us to accomplish the wing’s mission and provide our Citizen Airmen with the opportunity to enjoy quality time with one another while building morale.
“Family Morale Day signifies we are aware of the sacrifices our families endure to allow us to wear this uniform,” said Chief Master Sergeant Ricky Ramsey, 136th Airlift Wing, Texas Air National Guard, command chief. “Our Airmen cannot do the mission without the support of their families. Because, when we go overseas or TDY, it’s critical we know and have full confidence everything back home will continue to flow seamlessly.”
The day consisted of various events, including a car show, wing-sponsored BBQ competition, tailgate party, kickball tournament, a visit from Santa, as well as an assortment of lawn games and vendors for our military members and families to enjoy.
Amidst a sea of smiling faces, a chorus of laughter, and lively conversation, it was clear the event had succeeded in boosting morale and creating genuine connections and camaraderie between leadership and 136 AW members and their family, explained Col. Kurt Anderson, 136th Airlift Wing, Texas Air National Guard, deputy commander.
“This is by far the biggest event we have had in terms of a family day. I got a lot of feedback throughout the day about how we should do this more often and I agree,” said Anderson.
