Tech. Sgt. Kiara Plish, 911th Airlift Wing Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron aeromedical evacuation technician, started her military career nearly eight years ago while searching for a sense of purpose pride, and a college degree.
As a member of the 911th AES, one of her primary duties is keeping patients stable while transporting them to a higher level of care. Plish started in personnel before switching to AES. After eagerly waiting to attend flight school she got her chance in 2023 and has been air crew certified for over a year now.
Her medical skills are also in use outside of the military. As an EMT she transports and stabilizes patients and assists paramedics.
Plish says she loves her AES job. It gives her a better and broader use of her medical skills experience through unique situations while flying on the C-17 Globemaster III. As a part of the aeromedical evac community, Plish often travels overseas, and has built a strong sense of camaraderie with the rest of her unit.
"Always have an open mind and be flexible, these are my key takeaways from my job," said Plish.
In her downtime Plish enjoys comic-cons and karaoke.
