KABUL, Afghanistan — An Afghan-international security force went to an area north of Chenar Tu in the Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar province yesterday when intelligence information indicated militant activity. The security force stopped two motorcycles and detained two suspected militants for further questioning.

In Ghazni province yesterday, an Afghan national police patrol found a cache containing 36 mortar rounds and 30 rocket-propelled grenades. An ISAF explosive ordnance disposal team will destroy the cache.

In Kandahar Wednesday, an ANP patrol found a cache containing 62 anti-personnel mines, two circuit boards and six transmitters. The ANP turned the cache over to an ISAF EOD team for disposal.

No Afghan civilians were harmed in these operations.
