    Jeseka Taylor:
Good morning, Martin Army Community Hospital family! Welcome to another episode of The Martin Minute, where we keep you updated on the latest news and achievements in our community. I'm Jeseka Taylor, and today we have some exciting news to share with you.

[Transition to a photo montage of the Ft. Moore Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU).]

    Jeseka Taylor:
The Ft. Moore Soldier Recovery Unit has been named the best SRU in the Army for the first time ever! This incredible achievement showcases the hard work and dedication of the SRU staff and Soldiers.

    Jeseka Taylor:

The SRU’s mission is to help wounded Soldiers recover and transition back to duty or move into veteran status. This mission involves many people, including our hospital staff, social workers, surgeons, behavioral health specialists, and nurse case managers.

[Transition to a still image of Lt. Col. John Suprynowicz.]

    Jeseka Taylor:

Lt. Col. John Suprynowicz and Sgt. Maj. Domenic Massari led the SRU through three important phases to earn this title. First, they upgraded the facilities, including the barracks, which received the highest inspection score ever for an SRU. They also won awards for best practices and for their volunteer work with South Columbus public schools.

[Cut to footage of Soldiers participating in physical therapy and medical appointments.]

    Jeseka Taylor:
In the second phase, they focused on personalized care for each Soldier. They created specific plans to help Soldiers transition smoothly, aiming to reduce the number of Soldiers in the SRU from 200 to around 120 by this summer.

    Jeseka Taylor:

Finally, they concentrated on the well-being of the staff, ensuring they had
opportunities for professional development and maintaining a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout. This helps keep the quality of care for Soldiers very high.

[Clip of Soldiers engaging in field trips and community activities.]

    Jeseka Taylor:
Life in the SRU involves morning check-ins, physical therapy, and medical
appointments. Soldiers also participate in field trips and community activities, which are essential for their recovery. Each Soldier has a dedicated team, including a nurse case manager, social worker, surgeon, and a doctor who focuses on their specific needs.

[Highlight partnerships with Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Aquarium, and Chick-fil-A.]

    Jeseka Taylor:
Partnerships with groups like the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Aquarium, and Chick-fil-A enrich the Soldiers recovery experience. They also volunteer at on-post dog kennels, the hospital, and various community services, which helps them feel a sense of purpose and progress.

[Still image of Lt. Col. John Suprynowicz speaking at a podium.]
    Jeseka Taylor:
"Lt. Col. Suprynowicz reminds us that while being named the best is a great honor, their main focus is on achieving the best outcomes for recovering Soldiers. The title might come and go, but their commitment to the Soldiers’ well-being remains constant.

[Closing footage of Soldiers and staff interacting in various activities.]

    Jeseka Taylor:
"As Ft. Moore celebrates this achievement, the SRU is already planning to maintain and exceed the standards that earned them this recognition. Their goal is to ensure every Soldier leaves stronger and better prepared for their future.
