KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Airmen of the 8th Civil Engineer Squadron conduct
rapid airfield damage repair (RADR) in response to simulated attacks during the base-wide
training exercise Beverly Pack 24-1 at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, May 7, 2024.
Maintaining proficiency in airfield recovery ensures Airmen can quickly repair a runway that
may have been damaged in an attack or natural disaster to resume flight operations. Training
recovery efforts in these simulated contingent environments creates muscle memory that can be
relied upon when entering austere or degraded environments.
