DLA Disposition Services offers a diverse range of options for disposing of surplus military equipment and supplies. Sales contract types include: • DEMIL as a Condition of Sale • DEMIL A • Scrap materials • Electronic recycling • Ship recycling • Tires • Non-scrap property (upper right panel) Hazardous Waste DLA Disposition Services is entrusted with the critical task of managing hazardous waste as part of its comprehensive disposal services. Through a competitive “best value” concept, contracts are awarded to ensure efficient and responsible handling of hazardous materials. With oversight provided by over 150 Contracting Officer Representatives, supports over 1,100 military installations. Methods for disposal include recycling, incineration or landfilling while adhering to strict environmental regulations and standards. (lower left panel) Special Programs DLA Disposition Services manages the DoD surplus and excess property. Property that is not reutilized, transferred or donated may be sold to the public. Property no longer needed by the U.S. government or requested by authorized donation recipients can be sold to the public via auction if deemed appropriate and safe for release. Programs include: Computers for Learning Law Enforcement Support Office Firefighter Program Foreign Military Sales Humanitarian Assistance ROTC Units DOD/Service Museums (lower right panel) Reutilization The process of identifying and redistributing excess military property to other authorized military units enabling cost savings and resource optimization. Transfer Once Disposition Services has determined that there is no need for the property within DoD, the agency reports the property to GSA for transfer to another federal agency. These agencies are transfer customers. Donation The provision of surplus military property to eligible entities outside the DoD, such as state and local governments, law enforcement agencies and nonprofits supporting their missions and enhancing civilian capabilities.

In the heart of logistics, where the pulse of America's Combat Logistics Support Agency beats strongest, resides an unsung hero - DLA Disposition Services. This brochure outlines their mission and provides an overview of the agency’s support to the warfighter and its customers.

On the cover, pictures of the workforce in action as well as the mission - a commitment to providing worldwide reverse logistics solutions.

Open the brochure, and the left side invites small businesses into the fold, providing them guidance and resources for doing business with DLA. The QR code provides an entryway to a world where industry meets innovation and collaboration that links to training and information to jumpstart future business opportunities.

On the right side, Document Services is featured. In accordance with the DoDI 5330.03, DLA Document Services is the single agency in the DoD designated to provide integrated management of document services on behalf of the DoD Components – from high-quality prints to multifunctional device and scanning/conversion.

Flip to page 2, and the narrative broadens.

In the upper left panel, surplus property takes center stage - no longer needed by the government, yet potential remains. A diverse array of items, from DEMIL condition sales to electronic recycling, each contributing to economic and environmental harmony.

Adjacent, the upper right panel confronts the challenge of hazardous waste. With care, hazardous materials find safe passage to their next destination, guided by stringent environmental standards and overseen by Contracting Officer Representatives.

Down below, Special Programs provide a variety of outreach. Computers for Learning, Law Enforcement Support, and Humanitarian Assistance form a constellation of aid, showcasing the varied facets of DLA's impact beyond conventional boundaries.
