    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Empowering the Fleet: US Marine Corps Launches Assault Amphibian Community Website to Augment Force Readiness

    September 21, 2023

As part of the Marine Corps’ deliberate fielding of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, PEO Land System’s Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault, or PM AAA, and Marine Corps Systems Command’s Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, or MCTSSA, recently partnered to launch the Assault Amphibian Community Website.

While optimized for use on the Marine Corps Enterprise Network, the website assures wide-ranging accessibility. With an internet connection and the appropriate CAC and asset credentials, Marines have up-to-date information at their fingertips—enriching a culture of safety and proficiency in the spirit of ALMAR 025/23.

As stated by the PM AAA team, the goal of the website is to provide information in a format that is useful to today's Marine, who often prefers multimedia formats over the use of paper documentation, which can be slow to disseminate through leadership channels or found in disparate locations. Ultimately, Marines will have the ability to cache information on tactical tablets to take forward with them when deployed in network-limited environments.

“This website will provide a one-stop shop for operators, maintainers, communicators, and anyone seeking more knowledge on the capabilities of the ACV as well as the requisite manuals to safely maintain and operate the vehicle,” said Patrick Parks, ACV-C & C4I IPT Lead at PM AAA. “Marines at all levels will now have the information they need at their fingertips, empowering them to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to the Marine Corps' mission in the evolving landscape of modern warfare."

Marines seeking the latest details on the ACV-P and soon-to-be-fielded ACV mission role variants will find a comprehensive collection of resources, including insights on the iconic AAV7-RAM/RS family of vehicles. While the website provides a wealth of information for Marines at all levels and MOSes to access, it also provides a forum for Marines to exchange information and ask questions, the PM AAA team noted.

Another key feature of the platform is the dedicated MCTSSA technical help desk, which operates 24/7 to facilitate uninterrupted access to expert guidance. Furthermore, a tiered system guarantees users will receive informed responses from subject matter experts within a maximum of 72 hours, though responses are typically delivered within a 24-to-48-hour timeframe.

"The forthcoming website promises to stand as a true force multiplier, aiding in the streamlined training and fostering of more efficient Marine operators on the platform,” said Capt. Andy Alvarez, ACV C4I project officer. “In line with the goals of Force Design 2030, it stands to serve as a pivotal tool in the relentless pursuit of excellence and readiness."

Ultimately, the Marine Corps is taking lessons learned from initial fieldings and continues to test and refine operational procedures to maximize the platform’s capabilities in a safe and effective manner.

To foster a culture of readiness and seamless accessibility to critical information, Marines are encouraged to leverage this new tool to its fullest potential. The website can be accessed by visiting: https://usmc.sharepoint-mil.us.mcas-gov.us/sites/MCSC_MCTSSA_AAA/Pages/Home.aspx#/

Program Executive Office Land Systems is the only program executive office in the Marine Corps and is located aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.
