    624th Regional Support Group

The 624th Regional Support Group hosted a customer service and leadership workshop at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, July 20-28, 2023.

Approximately 40 Reserve Citizen Airmen from different Commander’s Support Staff work centers (Hickam, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., and Saint Paul Minn., Air Reserve Station) attended the workshop and were given a wonderful opportunity to add to their leadership toolboxes.
They joined in a series of development programs on personal and professional development to better understand oneself, coworkers and how to leverage their unique skills and create an effective work environment.

“The workshop was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed the training,” said Tech. Sgt. Brittani Vance, 567th Red Horse Squadron, noncommissioned officer in charge of commander’s support staff, Seymore-Johnson, “Being fairly new to the carrier field, it was nice to see how another CSS members addressed challenges, the learning environment was comfortable, easy to ask questions and it was a great experience.”

As the guest speaker, Chief Master Sgt. Samuel Caballero, Senior Advisor for the Professional Development Center, Air Force Reserve Command, Warner Robins, Air Force Base, Ga. Also, he is a Talent Development professional and co-founder, CEO who teaches a variety of learning programs such as, accountability, communications, change, business etiquette, and customer service.

“My passion and purpose are helping people help themselves,” said Chief Master Sgt. Caballero. “I am committed in supporting and assisting those that want to make an intentional pivot for the future.”
Caballero also spoke to 80 active-duty members during the 15th Wing Senior Noncommissioned Officers Professional Enhancement seminar. He provided insight on how to become a better leader, maintain a work life balance and tools necessary to navigate through challenging times.
Through small groups, Airmen interacted and gained mutual understanding of each other, built strong relationships and learned how to offer great customer service; important skills for any successful organization.

“I asked attendees what they wanted to get out of this workshop, the majority responded with get back to the basics, systems, smartsheets, learning others perspective, and networking,” said Senior Master Sgt. Maria Tailo, 624 RSG, section chief, commander’s support staff. “CSS is the heartbeat of the organization; we understand how important our role is to the squadrons, the training definitely hit all expectations.”

The training Reserve Citizen Airmen received is a line with Lt. Gen. John Healy’s strategic priorities of “Ready Now!” and “Transforming for the Future. They received the skills necessary to solve problems and have a support network to handle anything that comes their way.

Members met with the MAJCOM functionals and received a better understanding on future goals for the AFSCs.
