Farewell to the Forward Engineer
Support Team-Advance (903rd
FEST-A), and welcome to Task Force
Southern Castle, 334th FEST-A!
The 334th FEST-A assumed the
FEST-A mission and the transfer of
authority from the 903rd FEST-A.
The 903rd FEST-A conducted all
facets of engineering designs
within the Task Force Southern
Castle area of responsibility.
During their federal activation
in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom (Spartan
Shield), the 903rd FEST-A stood
up in September 2022, with
individuals assembled from
California, Colorado, and Idaho.
They all represent a variety
of skill sets, which include
architecture, mechanical and
electrical engineering, project
management, civil engineering,
and environmental engineering.
The 903rd FEST-A was led by
Capt. Peter Banos and Sgt. 1st
Class Jackson Moyers, Acting First
Sergeant for the 903rd FEST-A.
Col. Kendrick Cager, 168th Theater
Engineer Brigade Commander,
pinned Capt. Peter Banos with
the Meritorious Service Medal
(MSM) during the Transfer of
Authority Ceremony. Capt. Banos
was presented the award by the
commander for his exceptional
service and leadership while
leading the FEST-A mission for the
Theater Engineer Brigade.
The 334th FEST-A previously
deployed in support of Operation
Inherent Resolve from January
2017 to September 2017. The
current team is comprised of
Soldiers who hail from up and
down the east coast, including
Florida, Georgia, Alabama,
Tennessee, New Jersey, and
Washington, D.C., in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom
(Spartan Shield).
Just like the 903rd FEST-A, the
334th FEST-A has a wide range of
capabilities that serve as a force
multiplier within the engineering
disciplines of mechanical, electrical,
civil, and engineering project
management. FEST-A's bring
technical design capabilities as part
of project designs, scopes of work
development, project schedules,
cost estimates, and required facility
infrastructure and environmental
assessments at all assigned bases
and camps in support of Task Force
Southern Castle, 168th Theater
Engineer Brigade.
