    32d AAMDC Change of Command Welcomes New CG, Bids Farewell to Former

    FORT BLISS, Texas – FORT BLISS, Texas –The 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command held a Change of Command Ceremony between the outgoing commanding general, Brig. Gen. David F. Stewart, who relinquished command to incoming commanding general, Brig. Gen. Richard A. Harrison, at Imperial Field, on Fort Bliss, June 15.
    The change of command signified a formal transfer of authority and responsibility between one flag officer or responsible officer to another. The passing of the colors ensures that the unit is never without leadership.
    Harrison who commissioned in 1994 is no strangers 32d AAMDC having served the command in the following capacities: commander of the 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, assistant chief of staff operations (forward) for 32d AAMDC and deputy commanding officer for the 108th ADA Brigade.
    “As a 2LT starting my career here at Fort Bliss, I never dreamed of commanding this amazing organization. I’m truly humbled and pledge to give you 100% every day,” said Harrison “I look forward to the journey with you as we write the next chapter in our command’s history.”

    “I am eternally grateful to every Soldier, Civilian, NCO, Warrant Officer and Officer. To every primary and special staff member,” said Stewart. “Regardless of the challenge, the Blackjack team persevered and excelled. We achieved remarkable success; A remarkable team with remarkable people.”
    Following his tenure at 32d AAMDC, Stewart, who has been in command for three years, has accepted a position in the Pentagon as Director Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems/ Director of FIRES, Deputy Chief of Staff, G 3/5/7.
    “The vision for our command remains steadfast and resolute. We will take care of our people and always keep them first.” said Harrison.” We will build and maintain readiness in order to win when our nation calls. We will rapidly modernize our formations to defend against future threats.”
