    10th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

FORT CARSON, Colo. -- 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Supply Support Activity (SSA) hosted the second annual 92A Rodeo from April 17-20. The event is a week-long team competition testing the knowledge, skills and physical strength of Automated Logistical Specialists (92A). A total of five SSA teams competed from 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and 4th Infantry Division.
"The Rodeo is meant to build networking, cohesion and morale between units," said 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne)'s SSA Non-commissioned Officer in Charge. "The teams can learn from each other even while competing to build better SSA's."
The four day competition consisted of an Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), SSA scenario based lanes, an obstacle course and a logistician knowledge board.
Soldiers prepared for the competition by holding study halls and conducting Sergeants Time Training to enhance their knowledge of their day to day job. The teams also did strength and conditioning training in the weeks prior to the competition to prepare for the physical aspects.
"This competition exposed us to new leadership, new environments and new opportunities," stated a competitor from 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) located at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. "The 92A Rodeo helped us make a good team into a great team."
Having ample knowledge of their job and running competent SSA’s is not only detrimental to 92A's but to the Army as a whole.
"The Army would not run without us. We issue out supplies from pens to helicopter wings," said Sgt. Katherine Robinson from 68th Division Support Sustainment Battalion, 4th Infantry Division. "Even though we are not on the frontlines of combat, we are in the background providing the whole Army with support."
The competition came to an end with an organizational day where awards were given for Best Team Leader and Iron Soldier. The winners, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), were announced taking home bragging rights until the next annual 92A Rodeo.
“It felt great to have our hard work and effort pay off,” said a soldier from the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) winning team. “We look forward to competing again.”
