The Mona Lisa is historically known for its timeless beauty and amazement. During Pacific Warrior 2009 commanders, non-commissioned officers, operation sergeants and human resource specialists get to see it first hand here at Fort Hunter Liggett.
Staff Sgt. Frankie Yamanaka, 91st G-3 Battle Operations NCO, is the creator of such masterpiece. Updated daily, this spreadsheet artwork represents the daily training events and opportunities of all organizations here at Pacific Warrior.
"This spreadsheet was originally built lacking information on trainers or what units that was participating in it" stated Yamanaka. Over time, the functionality was upgraded to be a piece of information that units could see when classes are full, where they could get some training opportunities at, and inform trainers the opportunity to know who's coming to there class, Yamanaka added.
What feeds the Mona Lisa is information from the Joint Mission Scenario Event List. Company commanders had gathered together at various locations throughout the past year to plan missions they would like to see done, at this joint training event. From there it is inputted into a database which creates a frago which is then implemented by the troops.
"The computer scenarios can be structured in a way to be extremely complex and time consuming" stated Maj. David Puikunas, G-3 91st Division. Careful synchronization and detailed planning between all computer scenarios and troops on the ground must take place through all phases of the exercises to get the job done, Puikunas added.
It is the color tracking status which illuminates the Mona Lisa. Whether you are a player unit getting evaluated, or a supporting unit or even a unit whom is not in play, her glory is signified by one's movement. The best thing about the Mona Lisa is that time is her champion and her companion.
