4th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office

FORT CARSON, Colo. — Sgt. Calvin Remolino, assigned to the 127th Military Police Company, 759th MP Battalion, 89th MP Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, is one of many Soldiers to now have taken advantage of the Army’s new Soldier Referral Program.
The Soldier Referral Program offers three different incentives for Soldiers to refer interested individuals such as friends or family members to request more information through GoArmy.com/Refer. Referring soldiers are eligible for the incentives once their referred individual is validated by Human Resources Command as having arrived at Initial Military Training, otherwise known as Basic Training. The first incentive is rapid advancement to Soldiers in the rank of Pvt. - Pfc., with a cap of one rapid promotion for an eligible referral. The second incentive is the Army Recruiting Ribbon, which is available to all Soldiers. There are four levels of the award. The third incentive is the ten promotion points for Soldiers in the rank of Spc. - Sgt. that are awarded for each of up to the four levels of the Army Recruiting Ribbon.
“It’s a great program, I would definitely advise others to take advantage of it if they want promotion points, and to progress their careers,” said Remolino.
This program serves a great opportunity for all Soldiers to get a head start on developing their career.
“I think it’s important to refer people to the Army because it gives a lot of young Soldiers a sense of purpose,” said Remolino. “The Army also provides them with many benefits including a free education.”
Remolino said it's important to encourage other Soldiers to participate in this new program because it helps the Army recruit new people into their ranks.
“Participating in this program makes me feel good, I enjoy helping people start their own career,” said Remolino. “I like being able to help people out of bad situations, because before the army I was in that same position.”
Before joining the army, Remolino was skeptical if this was what he wanted to do. What made him choose to join was the benefit of free education. Now, Remolino plans on making a career out of the military.
“The Army has given me the opportunity to focus on my education, and it also helped my family and I find a sense of stability,” said Remolino.
Remolino found a sense of purpose through the Army, as do many other Soldiers. By participating in the Army Soldier Referral Program, he strived to help others find their sense of purpose as well.
“I would recommend the Army to anybody, there’s so many great resources,” said Remolino. “I don’t regret anything at all after joining.”
