HOHENFELS, Germany – Country music artist and U.S. Army veteran Craig Morgan visited the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) to perform a United Service Organizations (USO) concert for the troops on December 21, 2022.
Morgan performed some of his top singles, such as “International Harvester”, “Redneck Yacht Club” and “That’s What I Love About Sunday”. In between songs, he spoke to the gathering of Soldiers about his time in service, their various backgrounds and the struggles of being overseas during the holiday season.
“We appreciate their service and sacrifice, and I think they need to hear that, especially during this time of year. The holidays are important because not every soldier gets to go home for the holidays. We came over here to try to give them a little bit of home,” said Morgan.
After his performance, Morgan met with the Soldiers, signed autographs and posed for pictures. One Soldier was gifted a signed guitar that Morgan used during his performance.
Morgan served for over 17 years in the Active and Reserve components and has been performing on USO tours for 22 years, traveling to overseas locations such as Germany, Japan and Afghanistan. This was the last performance of this USO tour.
Pfc. Rafayel Yervandyan, a Soldier who attended, spoke on the performance saying, “It’s something memorable. We’re all grateful he came and did something so special for us.”
