U.S. Army Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Wesley Dohogn, the Command Chief Warrant Officer for 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, hosted a Warrant Officer Offsite Leader Professional Development conference Nov. 2-4 at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch, Bavaria.

The warrant officer conference was a three-day event where warrant officers from all U.S. Army air defense units in EUCOM came together to share their innovations and specialties to contribute to the development of others.

During the conference, 10th AAMDC Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Wesley Dohogn, described the overall focus of the event during his introduction speech.

“The theme of our event is ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’, and contributing to the development of others,” said Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Wesley Dohogn. “Over the next three days we will focus on what we do individually and collectively, with a specific focus on how we impact and influence each other.”

By each warrant officer combining their specialties and ideas, it expands and develops innovation to continue the overall mission; reinforce our Allies and deter any potential aggression.

“It does not matter what your military occupation specialty is, this organization would not work without your contributions,” said Dohogn. “Your contributions have been innovative and collaborative, supporting operations across the area of responsibility.”

On the first day of the event, warrant officers focused on working collaboratively and integrative as a team. On the second day, the team was separated by their job occupation to dive deeper into their specialties and support the theme of “Iron Sharpens Iron.” On the last day, the warrant officers regrouped and shared their ideas, visions, and propositions using rational discourse.

“It does not end here,” said Dohogn during his closing statement. “We go back to work and use the knowledge we gained to mentor our non-commissioned officers, commissioned officers, and each other.”

After the conference, the team took a cable car to the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany, as part of the cultural event.
